Who is the data controller

Trips with John — Jan Pořízek, U Skály 262/2, 150 00 Prague 5, Czech Republic. Company ID (IČO): 08261458. Email: info@tripswithjohn.com. Sole trader operating under Czech trade licensing law. I decide how and why your personal data is processed and I am your contact for any privacy question.

What data I collect

Inquiry and booking data: your name, email address, phone number, travel date and time, pickup and drop-off details, flight number, number of passengers, chosen vehicle and any notes you send me.

Communication data: the content of emails, WhatsApp messages or calls we exchange about your trip.

Technical data: with your consent, cookies and similar technologies may collect device, browser and usage information for analytics and marketing purposes.

Why I process it and on what legal basis

To answer your inquiry and prepare a booking — performance of a contract or steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). To provide the transport or guiding service you booked — performance of a contract. To keep invoices and accounting records — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). For analytics and marketing cookies, including the Meta Pixel — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

How long I keep it

Inquiries that do not result in a booking are kept for up to 12 months. Booking and communication records are kept for the duration of the service and up to 3 years afterwards for warranty and claim purposes. Invoices and accounting documents are kept for 10 years as required by Czech law. Consent-based cookie data is kept for a maximum of 13 months.

Who has access to your data

Your data stays with me and, where a trip requires it, with the vetted driver assigned to your journey. I also use service providers who process data on my behalf: email and website hosting providers, and — where you consent — analytics and advertising providers such as Meta Platforms. Some of these providers may process data outside the EU/EEA; in that case transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. I never sell your data.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep the website working and are always active. Analytics and marketing cookies (for example the Meta Pixel) are only set once you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site, which makes the banner appear again.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal. Write to info@tripswithjohn.com and I will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, uoou.cz).

Security

I use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, access-protected devices and limiting access strictly to what is needed to arrange your trip.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
